List the worst cigar(s) you’ve ever had

Now I KNOW I'm a newb... some of your most hated, are on my most liked list (Gurkha and ITC super fuerte maduro). I've gotta spend more I guess. See you cbid tonight....

My lighter is dying. Help me for a new one.

Good plan. I only see them in the checkout isle with the tobacco products.

    A newb ponders pests

Ah, my bad. My wife doesn't want me to construct a wine-coolidor, a refrigerated humi. Somehow she thinks I have too many hobbies and related "stuff" in the house. Hmm and as I ponder more, it looks like maybe I shoulda put this in the Humidor section. Mods, feel free to move it you like.

    A newb ponders pests

I did a bad thing the other day. I started adding up the dollar value of what's sitting in my humis. Then I noted that ambient temp in my house is around 78 in the summer (I live in Florida). RH is controlled (well) by beads. But now I'm just kinda semi-obsessed about the possibility of...

My lighter is dying. Help me for a new one.

My vote if for a $3 Ronson JetLight from Wallmart. It works well, and if you misplace it, you won't be too upset.

    A priceless cigar

That was a great gift to you. But as a dad, let me tell you, your dad >> really << enjoyed the giving of it to you. You guys are both lucky! Enjoy

    Jon Mark Robbo

Yeah, I've never been a scotch drinker, but last night on a whim picked up a bottle of Jon, Mark, and Robbo's Malt Scotch Whisky (The rich Spicy One). I'd never heard of them but at $30 per bottle was worth a shot. Plus the sales staff who is usually very knowledgeable, glowed about it...

    Favorite Gurkha?

NOW I see this post, after pulling the trigger on this weeks "weekly special" at CI (Gurkha 5 packs x2 at good price). I had no clue what to order so based on some online reviews, picked out the Grand Age Perfecto and Legand Robusto. Hope I did all right. Maybe later on (translation: after...

    A cigar before bed

I've read that nicotine is both a depressant and a stimulant. We smoke our cigars to relax, but sometimes get a buzz. This dual nature has me thinking. In Florida it's hot. The best time for a long relaxing smoke is late at night when it cools off somewhat and I can enjoy the patio. But is...

    A newb gets thoughtful..

My humi is getting full of stuff I've ordered. Mostly samplers from all over, and lots from Cbid. The samplers tend toward the high end and the CBid is more the bargain to mid level stuff. I kinda consider all this expense to be my "tuition" to a more refined appreciation of cigars and cigar...

    Life Insurance

Yeah, my bad. I did search, but have now learned that if I put quotes around the search terms, I don't get pages of irrelevant hits. Once I tried again with the quotes, it got much more specific. lesson learned. And thanks for the tips.

    Life Insurance

I'm a newb and probably by most standards a low-ish volume cigar smoker (Cbid not withstanding :0 ). Never used cigarettes in my life. So now, when I get to that nice box on the insurance form that asks if I'm a smoker, what do I say? Do they mean cigs? Occasional cigars? 1/day? Should I...

    Humidor Organization

Well, I've started the horrible downhill slide. I joined Cbid and have been winning auctions :0 I'm doomed I see already. Anyway, as a newb, I've now graduated from the tupperdor to a new humidor from Cheaphumidors. It's an ok mid sized unit with a removable shelf, (no drawers) probably...

Newbie new experiance - The Convertible

It was a '67 'B. I loved it except it was perhaps the least reliable car I ever owned. I had to carry a crowbar to whack the fuel pump in order to start the car. Lucas electric blows imho ;) . BTW I repeated the beach drive today with a dome-lidded coffee cup, "customized" with about 1/3 of...

Newbie new experiance - The Convertible

I like the suggestions so far! A McD's coffee cup would probably work with a little water in the bottom. I drive a Mazda MX-5 that also has a wind screen between the seats, and while it's a heck of a lot better than my old MGB from yesteryear, it's still pretty breezy.

Talk some sense into a newb here!

Hi all, I'd love a desktop humi so I've been scouring the web. Along the way I saw this: http://www.cubancrafters.com/products.php/itemId/331 which is either a) a good deal or b) a dog house. The humi looks similar to the ones everyone else sells for around $50 but the "their selection"...

Newbie new experiance - The Convertible

It was a beautiful day off last week and I used the opportunity to drive to the beach to see my son. Top down on the car all the way up...and back. I gotta say, it's an immensely enjoyable experience to enjoy a cigar on a great ride. The convertible created some problems to deal with though...
