I'm a gin fan myself. Hendricks is a favorite, but my go-to gin is Beefeaters. A place here makes an awesome Hot and Dirty Martini, a g&t is always nice, and a Negroni before meals is a joy.

Very nice review on a nice cigar. One of the things I particularly like about the Oliva V Lancero is that as far as lanceros go, it's a pretty cheap stick. Most of the lanceros I see are $9+, but the V Lancero comes in under $6, and it's certainly a quality stick. For a guy who loves lanceros...

I believe La Flor Dominicana's Reserva Especial line uses Connecticut Shade for the cigars in the line with the colorado claro capas, and while they're not especially strong, I certainly wouldn't describe them as mild either. If you haven't tried them, maybe it's worth a shot.
