8to8 is near to where I grew up, so a quick train right out west isn't difficult...but really not for tourists I would say. Have a good time. Enjoy!

    Bad experience with Montecristo

That's a shame! I love MCs...though I have had my share of plugged sticks unfortunately. MCs and Rocky Patels mostly have the unsmokably tight draw.

This Friday, eh? I'll be at 8to8 in the burbs. There's an event going on.

Hilton, swanky! It's easily accessible by the Brown Line @ Sedgwick or Red Line @ Clark/Division (~11min/.6mi walk from here). From the Hilton it's a short walk west to the Red Line @ Harrison.

Ohh right. That place is pretty good. I really wish they had better ventilation there though.

    Partagas Mille Fluers

I had a dream that I tried these and they tasted like shit. Dreaming about cigars, bad news. Hopefully my dream won't come true!

    Partagas Mille Fluers

I picked up a box of 10 while away on business. My previous experiences with cubans have been very "meh". Not sure if I just got some duds, or they were way overhyped, or whatever... Are these Partagas cubans any good? What should I expect?

    Pelican case as a humidor

HAha, nice! I have nearly the exact same case I use for work travels except mine is filled with GPS / Computer equipment. Never thought of this...:-D

    Thoughts on Apple laptops?

MAC and PC both have their problems...none is "better" than the other in my opinion. The deciding factor for me is cost. MAC is WAY WAY WAY overpriced and you can get a damn good PC rig with money wasted on a basic MAC setup. I have various other opinion about MAC, but they are simply...

    A few cigar photos

I can't recommend Photoshop CS5 / Elements because 1) I don't use them 2) it's hella expensive, unless you download it *wink wink* 3) Most of the tools in Photoshop you'll never use GIMP is free and has all of the basic funtionality that PS does. I would say go with Lightroom. Everything...

    A few cigar photos

I never use that. The only thing I use layers for is this selective coloring. It's just practice and taking lots and lots of photos.;)

I highly recommend Lightroom. It really makes your workflow easier. Instead of navigating menus in Photoshop you just change sliders

    A few cigar photos

I honestly don't remember if I added a vignette (I usually do in my pictures, I like the style). If I did, it was very slight. I use Lightroom for most of my post work, and only photoshop (actually, I'm a GIMP user) for more advanced edits. Simple desaturation can be done by going to Colors...

    A few cigar photos

I desaturated the table only. The original was ok, but because the table was a shade of brown as well it clashed with the cigar too much.
