After about 3 months of work, I finally got 2 NIH SBIR grants and another grant submitted for the company I work for yesterday. Realizing I needed to celebrate, I picked two cigars out of my Desktop humidor - a Fuente Fuente OpusX (2004) and a PAM Exclusivo. As I knew the PAM wouldn't disappoint, I smoked the OpusX first. Fantastic cigar, but that's another review.

After cleansing my palate a bit (water and JW Black label), I pulled out the PAM. Construction was flawless: firm, beautiful dark maduro wrapper, and a pleasant prelight aroma. I clipped about 1/8" off the cap and took a prelight draw. Perfection. I eagerly toasted the foot, and took my first draw - I was in heaven. Characteristic Padron Anniversario smoothness. The draw was absolutely perfect.

These cigars are so damn creamy and smooth it's ridiculous. I tasted a wonderful combination of cocoa and nuttiness. Of the cigars I have smoked, the Padron Anniversarios have a unique flavor profile that never disappoints. I know what to expect and this line delivers every time

I must admit that the PAM was better than the OpusX. If I am ever unsure of what to smoke I will ALWAYS pick up a PAM. Always. Smoked this down to about 1/2" and then it got a bit too hot. A definite finger burner every time I smoke one.

EDIT: My rating: 9.5/10

CA scale rating: 93

Nice review.

I bought a box of the Exclusivo's in Natural and every one of the 15 or so that I have smoked were just fantastic. I'm not sure why, because I know that it is going to be great, but the first puff always brings a "wow" from me.

Rookie :D .

That's when you wait a second and let it cool down. While you're waiting you get a paperclip or better yet a roach clip. 1/2" thrown away. What a waste!

I totally agree with you on the PAMs. Always consistent. Always amazing. I definitely prefer those to the Opus. Not the Exclusivo though, I'm partial to the Imperial. It's between the Imperial and the 1926 no.9 for me. My first no.9 I had to hold with fingers from both hands because I nubbed it so much. It literally almost disappeared. Unbelievably smooth until the end.

Two great smokes! I love opus more than PAM's, but oh well. Awesome Review jingy!
