Well we all know now that before he made that blockade, he made sure that he had an ample supply of his favorite Cuban cigars on hand!
 
Just another example of cover-my-a$$, status quo, stick in the mud, diplomacy. Like most examples of this type, they go on for decades past where they have any relevance. When the Berlin Wall came down talks with Cuba should have begun and have been concluded long ago.
