I don't understand the contempt that some of you seem to feel towards the 5 Vegas line of cigars. Granted there are only two that I enjoy, but as to the others that are there, I don't consider them a "bad" cigar. My favorite is the 5 Vegas Gold. I treat that stick for what it is. A mild after breakfast smoke that is easy to enjoy, and the price on these just realy cannot be beat for what they are. I know that it is no Gurkha, CAO, R&J, or any of the boutique cigars, but they are a good smoke thats really affordable.

I agree with you on the Gold. A really decent mild cigar. The regular line is cram IMO. Haven't tried the Limitada line but I would like to.

I personally love the 5 vegas 'A' and the Limitada '05, but am not fond of the Reds or Golds. However every 5 vegas cigar I have tried was well rolled and burned like a laser.

And I'd put an 'A' up against almost any boutique cigars out there.

It's just a matter of personal preference, that's all.

Personally I can't stand any of the 5 Vegas lines of cigars. I think they taste like crap, the construction is marginal to poor, most of the ones I've smoked have burned poorly and I think they are a complete waste of time and money.

This is just my opinion but if you like them, then that's fine.

If you like them then why worry what other people think? Smoke what you like and enjoy them.

My old man smoked Macanudos till they day he died. I thought they were not a great cigar and he could afford to smoke anything he wanted but that is what he liked.

It truly doesn't bother me what others' think about what I smoke. I was just really wondering why folks don't like them. I just feel that they are a terrific value for what you get. That's all.

I think I am going to buy the robusto golds in bulk to stock the humidor with and hand them out to my golf buddies next time we play (yeah I'm a cheap bastard  ). I will take the wrappers off of the smokes so they have no idea what they are getting and ask them what they think of it. I think they'll appreciate them ......until I tell them what they are and how much they cost :D.....then they'll probably buy the cheapest tap brews back at the clubhouse after the round to get back at me :p .

Not a fan of them either.
I have only tried a couple of them. Nothing really wrong with them but just not my thing.

I had one of the 05 Limitada pyramids today while doing yardwork, drinking beer and playing with a chainsaw. I would categorize it as a high-end yardgar. Probably not what one would usually classify as a yardgar, but not something that I'd take out to the bar or lounge either.

The burn and construction were average. It didn't canoe or tunnel too bad, at least nothing that couldn't be fixed easily. And the taste was as good as you would expect while you're preoccupied with beer and a chainsaw.

I had a couple 5 Vegas. They was ok. Nothing I would go out of my way to buy again. My taste in cigars are well beyond these any more. Thats the beauty of cigars. Many flavors, strengths that can appeal to different smokers. If you enjoy them, more power to ya.

I love the 5 Vegas red labels. I like the Golds. I am not prepared for the A yet. Too peppery. I have yet to try the limitada. I have personally never had any burn or draw problems with the 5 Vegas classic (red label) and they taste great. I like them better than the Padron 1964 I had today. But taste is after all subjective so.... To each their own.

Well, for just about everyone who isn't into cigars, these are probably the best cigars they've ever smoked so if they buy you Coors Light at the clubhouse, bring Phillies Blunts to the next round of golf. ;)

I wouldn't classify these as "cheap" however Phillies Blunts are a different story.

A fellow CPer has offer me a 5er of the Gold's to try. Thanks again!!

I'll am a newbie, so the mild cigars are probably more my taste. A BOTL at work gave me an "A" to try. I'm sure I will enjoy both of them. He said he doesn't smoke 5 Vegas anymore either. However, he has burned them in the past.

What funny is that is seems the 5 Vegas Gold's were in almost every new cigar smokers humidor. With time, taste change and the 5 Vegas are history. I'm beginning to think that they are not so much looked down upon, but don't offer as much to the seasoned smoker after time.

I'm looking forward to trying them. I cannot afford a $5 cigar a couple/three times a week. So the Gold may be a good fit until I want a stronger smoke. I won't feel bad about smoking them, that is just where I am at right now.
