I got home from the Broncos game tonight feeling a little crappy about our loss and I walked into my kids room to kiss them goodnight. Of course they were both asleep but I found this tucked under my 7 year olds arm. It is almost easy to forget how special Christmas is with the hustle and bustle of everything going on, but this brought me back to reality and reminded me of the anticipation and magic that our little ones experience..

That's awesome.

I'm doing the calendar with the daily chocolate behind the hidden door thing with my daughter for the countdown. She loves it.

Advent calendar?!?!?! I distinctly recall them as a kid. My father is retired Army and we lived in Germany for 7 years.

I remember looking forward to that days chocolate every evening. :)

The nice thing about grandbabies is that you get to do it all over again!
Not over Bruce, maybe better is more apt. That's why grandparents are better than parents. As someone quoted in here a while back...
Grandkids and grandparents have something in common, they both don't like the parents

Great pic...I know I sometimes forget what it was like as kid waiting on Christmas...easy to get caught up in all the hype and hustle of what it has become today.

Mine are also doing the advent calendar, but with this past weekend's storms and loss of power, they didn't get anything in for the first few days until this morning. It's fun to watch them get excited about Christmas, since the older I get, the less interested I am. I'm just hoping i can figure out a way to get them all that they want this year. LMAO!

Hey Brian, if you haven't already, you MUST do the turkey vs Cornish hen "oh my God, the turkey shrank" trick! Three generations in of my house and counting!
