I can't believe you've got a woodworking section and not one of the projects is a humidor! :p

C'mon give me a break here. First of all - I'm really learning as I'm going. This is all kinda OJT. Secondly - I'm just about out of cigars. Due to life insurance rates (literally DOUBLE for tobacco users), I've decided to not purchase any more cigars and quit when I'm out. When I had a few boxes of cigars, this sounded like a reasonable idea. Now, when I'm down to less then 20 (plus the box of Padron's from CC for after the baby's born) it seems a little more realistic. Anyway... what's the point of building a humidor when you have nothing to put in it? ???

Dave ;)

Ahhh dude when they ask you on the stupid questionaire if your a tabacco user a simple no will suffice. duuuuuuh

Plus there not looking at the guys who smoke 1 cigar a day or 2-3 a week! They are looking for the 1-2 packer cigarette smokers when they're doing that survey question.

Go ask your doctor. Heck 1-2 cigars a week may just extend your life becuase it removes some of the everyday stress your under. The pat answer of course is all tabacco products are bad for your but anything in excess is not good for you.

Don't bail on us BOTL

Sure, I could tell them I don't use tobacco, but the blood test that they'll run to find ANY trace amounts of nicotine in my system will end up cancelling my policy. They won't even bother to test me until 6 months after I tell them I've stopped using all tobacco products. Besides, with a baby on the way, there's also the money issue to consider. I don't know if anyone has noticed, but cigars ain't cheap! :p

BTW, got the 2nd coat of polyurethane on the two hanging pieces. With this fast drying stuff, I may be able to begin final assembly today!

I don't know if anyone tried to post any comments to the pictures - heck I don't know if anyone would want to post any comments to the pictures - but I enabled rating and comments for all non-members (that's everyone except Carrie & me).

Comment away.... or not

Dave,

Make sure you put one of those clear plastic vent diverters on that AC vent. Put it on so that it blows the air up at the ceiling. And if you have a ceiling fan in the room have it blow up........and make sure to dust it often so the dust does not build up on the blades and blow down on the little one.

Also, get a really good classical music CD and put that dude on repeat random. Baby will be sleeping through the night in no time. And/or some of those natural noises CDs (waves, birds, waterfalls, crickets, etc...).

Thanks for the advice - but no need for the diverter - that's the cold-air return vent. It returns air in, not blow out. We're considering installing a ceiling fan (ok, I'm trying to convince Carrie to let me install one) - if it's on low - isn't blowing down ok?

If the temperature isn't too cold I guess it doesn't matter, I was mostly referring to the dust bunnies that build up on the blades.

Believe me, in this house, the upstairs getting too cold is not going to be an issue. I want the ceiling fan to stir the stale hot air that always seems to accumulate up here.

Dave ;)

BTW, wouldn't dust bunnies build up on the blades no matter which direction they're turning?

It's done - check out the latest pictures!

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :D eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
