A Conspiracy with US Postal

So with my Jerky business, over the last couple of years I have sent out hundreds of packages with US Postal. For the most part they have done good. I've only lost a few packages since I started, and I'd say that's pretty good. Today I got an email from a customer (CP Member I believe) that said he received his box of "jerky" but when he opened it, there was another box inside addressed to someone else. Inside that box, was a case for a motorola razor phone, and no JErky. I sent a complaint to US Postal, we'll have to wait and see what they say. But this is some weird stuff. Someone at US Postal had to open my package, take out the 2 lbs of Jerky, and then replace it with that box????

any ideas.

Hi, Hillbilly Steaks! Yes, the USPS generally does a good job, although I prefer UPS and FedEx for package deliveries. It sounds like an unscrupulous postal worker had a hankering for some jerky, took the jerky, and then replaced the jerky with the phone case. Another guy has also been cheated out of his phone case. Over the years, I have had a few incidents where the USPS has been less than honest with me. One incident had to do with some postage stamps for collectors, sent to me from Broadway Approvals, London, England. To make a long story short, some postal worker is now probably enjoying these stamps in his own collection, free gratis. I wish you continued success with your jerky business, Hillbilly Steaks! Regards, knightlaird

E,
That's f'ed up!

Since starting Cigarmony.com, the USPS has lost or stolen approx $2k worth of stuff in just 6months! David at Heartfelt has a similar figure as well.

It sucks and the USPS isn't any help in trying to locate "lost" priority mail. It's BS

Thats crazy HillBilly. Im in the stamp and coin business, and over the years I have had numerous items stolen or "lost" during shipment. The post office is no help at all, unless a) it was registered or b) it was insured. Even then, they are still useless.
Thank god for my insurance policy, thats all I have to say.

Thats a riduculous number. I am convinced employees just steal stuff that looks interesting to them. It's never "lost" The employees just take it

I'd say you have a pretty good average. At least you don't have any stories of your packages getting caught in the crossfire.

The postal service really screwed me once, I got a whole sheet of these collector stamps, but the damn planes were upside down! Worthless!

Then they have the balls to get mad and shoot their coworkers. Must have got something they wanted. BTW the stealing is F*&^D UP.

come to think about it, the only time i lost anything, it was coins which i collect. must be a lot of coin collectors at the post office. ???

That souds really wierd. I do a lot of ebay business and I have never had a problem with USPS. Plenty of problems with UPS breaking stuff though. Never had anything like this happen! Probably a postal worker that knows what you usually ship, that is if you ever have let them know. Most of the postal workers that I know know that I deal with some pretty wierd shit. Sometimes I tell them what is in the packages just to trip them out. I keep the cigar info hush hush though.

What does your return address label say? If it references steaks, jerky, or food products, I'm sorry to say, it's like a sign saying, "Steal this package!!".

A friend of mine in the cigar mail order business learned long ago to leave all references to cigars off of his packaging. Once he changed his labels, his number of "lost" packages dropped dramatically.

Sad commentary on the honesty of our fellow man!!

Took the words right out of my mouth. I couldn't have said it better.

You might want to consider changing your return addy label to something generic.
