A few vacation pictures

The girlfriend and I went to Maui for a couple weeks for vacation. I thought I'd share some pictures with you all.

We spent the first few days in Pa'ia, a small hippie / surfer town.

A little further down the beach is Ho'okipa Beach, well known for windsurfing. It's where Jaws appears (the wave, not a shark).

Here's the Iao Needle on the mountains on the west end of Maui.

We took a couple mile hike through up the mountain and passed by these falls first. They're about 300' high.

We ended up climbing down the slope and going swimming in this pool. It was cool, refreshing, and deep (30' down we couldn't touch the bottom).

We spent the last week of vacation in Lahaina, a tourist town on the leeward side of the island. Here's a sunrise towards Haleakala when we were leaving to go diving.

The humpback whales were just starting to come around. We saw probably about 10 different whales (or maybe the same whales on different days). Here's a pic of a baby I captured.

The two of us and some wild birds we captured and tamed.

I agree, those are great pics. Several of them look like what you would see on a postcard. It's been about 17 years since I last in Hawaii - your pictures bring back fond memories!

Spent two nights of my honeymoon at the hotel Hana maui. We found that red sand too.

Can't wait to go back. :whistling:
