The Warden and I had a pretty good Sunday at the Antique Mall. I picked up two Dunhill Rollagas lighters at an unbelievable price. The price was so low that I thought they had to be fake, but they passed all the counterfeit checks. I ordered a couple refurb kits as they both leak pretty badly. Outer cases are near perfect! Had to get them both even though they were identical. Date codes show manufacture at 1978 and 1982.

Also spotted this Hollywood Regency period ashtray as a decoration in a vintage clothing store. Asked if it was for sale and it was! It’s missing a couple dangling crystals but I picked up replacements on eBay. It’s in great shape otherwise.

Everything went pretty smoothly with the lighter refurb even with my big mitts! Damn those parts are little!

Here’s the finished lighter with the pipe conversion. Works perfectly!

The filler inlet valve on the other lighter has a slow leak even after o-ring replacement. I believe it’s in the spring-loaded mechanism and I found a replacement on eBay. All in, under $140 for two gorgeous vintage lighters
