What is that revolver...I can't quite make out the writing on the side of the barrel...something S&W Magnum?

Yep. It's the big boy. S&W 500 Magnum. The bullet is almost the size of a cigar.

Damn. It is a 36 ring gauge, afterall! That is ludicrous. What, about 400 grain hp? I fired a ported .454 and a non ported .44 mag with a 3 incher, and both were too much for me...that beast must be silly. Have fun...I'll stick to my .357 snubby or my .44 special. If I had room for anything that size, I'd carry the Kimber, anyway....

I think you'd be VERY suprized at the recoil...or the lack there of with the 500 mags. The smith 500 has a VERY effective compensator and between that and the heavy weight of the revolver, its a cat to shoot. Ive shot one side by side to a couple of my 454's and 44 mags...the 8" 500 has about the same recoil as the majority of my 44 mags, but is nowhere near as punishing as the 454. Id like to pick one up some day just to have it...i have no reason on earth to have one other than the "coolness" factor!

I guess you could say that I'm Baptist. The church I go to started out Baptist but kind of turned Non-Denominational. Attendance more than tripled.My Church Website. One of our pastors, who recently died, was real into guns. He used to organize "Christian" shooting trips. Never got to go on one though.

Been growing the tail for about 9 years and I think about cutting it off every day but just can't bring myself to do it. Besides it goes good with my bikes and tattoos. :laugh:
