A tribute to Mr. Peat

On Saturday August 25th, and 8pm Eastern time we all light one up in honor of our good friend mr peat. I have a couple small guidelines as well. (these are suggested, but not required).

Loren, I hope that you are feeling better! We all know that what you're going thru is difficult, and I hope that maybe this will help take the edge off a bit.

Well I just finished my FIRST OpusX! And this was certainly a deserving occasion. I unfortunately didn't have the opportunity to share the occasion with anyone else, but I enjoyed it all the same.

With help from my wife Kim ("Honey pick one of these 2 cigars for me to smoke tonight). Faced with the choice of either a FFOX PerfecXion X or a FFOX PerfecXion No.2, she pointed to the No.2 and said, "The pointy end one." So be it. I paired it with a glass of one of my favorite wines, a Seyval Blanc.

This cigar was absolutely incredible. I've got to get more of these with some age.

Well...I wouldn't have thought so many Opus X going up in flames in one day. I just finished smoking a Opus X #5 with probably 6 months on it. It was a great smoke that didn't displease me at all. Again, thanks for this wonderful thread as I have been looking forward to it. :thumbs: :thumbs:

Loren, I smoked a Reserva de Chateau at a local herf last night. I'm waiting for pictures, but I remember the flash goin off when I was smokin it, so I'll post when I can!

Well, an unscheduled trip to a friends for dinner interupted my plans yesterday, but better late than never.

I chose a Fuente Fuente that was included in my Newbie sampler nearly a year ago, with the promise at that time that it was at least a year old.

I figured an event like this that celebrates our community should be honored with a stick that came with my introduction to this community.

Sorry it took so long to post. But I was able to burn my second Opus ever for Loren saturday night at around 1:30 when i got home after work. It was a Fuente Fuente size from the recent fathers day batch.

It was a great cigar considering how young it was. I have a few others I'm going to let sit for a while
