This isn't being posted to offend, make a political statement or anything else of that nature. If it offends you then please respond to me via PM, likewise this thread isn't for a pile on of fists raised to the air in support. If you agree with what I am about to share, then you will know what to do. If you don;t agree, then as above feel free to PM, but otherwise I don;t want to see this thread digenerate into some big political or historical or otherwise ego mess.
Today I came across the following web site:
http://www.thewall-usa.com/
On this web site you can search for anyone you may have known or likewise as I did for people you never heard of. Simply go to the search and click "serach" without putting anything in the search fields.
A lot of names are going to pop up. Several of them don't have comments left. Yes, this is a place to leave comments of appreciation, condolences, etc. for Veitnam soldiers who never made it home. Within 5 minutes I found 2 individuals who had no comments. I left a simple "thank you". I plan on doing this on Memorial and Veteran's days in the future.
I think it is a great way of doing something to contribute to the meaning of these two days - especially today on Veteran's Day. As I said it took me only 5 minutes to find two young men (both 19) who lost their lives and no one had left a commentary under their database listing. I think those 5 minutes were well spent and I would like to encourage my brothers here to do the same.
Thanks,
Sam
