almost to the hour after giving this speech The Revered Martin Luther King was shot and killed in Memphis. He was 39.
 
I just read that speech for the first time a couple days ago. Being a Christian, I found it moving for this time of the year.

It also may have pissed off the military industrial establishment enough to take SOME sort of action. They never like anyone screwing around with their war or the month club.
 
Truly one of the greatest Americans. Hard to believe what that man had done by the time he was only 39. I'm 39. :(
