Advice needed - going to Florida & want to go deep sea fishing

From my experience take plenty of dramamine or a scalapine sp? patch.

Seriously hope you find a good charter. Best of luck!!

It might be a little difficult to find a charter in Orlando as it is in the middle of the state. You might have to drive to Tampa or St. Petersburg to find a half decent charter. IMHO save your money as the best deep sea fishing in Florida is down in the Keys.

Thanks. I guess I should have been a bit clearer on that- I wasn't actually looking to fish in Orlando  I was expecting to drive some but not sure I want to go to the Keys.

Your best bet is probably the Keys but you say thats too far.

I don't have any advice on specific charters but I do know on the South east coast (like Stuart and Jupiter) they are pretty abundant. I have no idea about the west coast. It's been awhile since I've headed to Stuart but I use to make the trip in about 2.5 hours (from east Orlando), so thats not real far.

Your best bet it probably to search around online and see what you can find. If you can make the time you should definitely try to get down to the Keys.

And most importantly, if you have the time while in Orlando PM me and we can do a mini-herf :D

I went to key west and did some deep sea fishing 2 years ago, forgot the group that took me though. However, if your there...you absolutley have to go scuba diving/ snorkeling in lieu key (the american barrier reef) It is certainly an experience you cannot pass up.

I used to live (part time) in Stuart. I remember the signs said, "Welcome to Stuart, Sailfish capital of the World." I don't know if it's true or not, I never went fishing, I only went surfing.

Check out some places in cape Canaveral and Titusville. Its around an hour drive east. I know there's plenty of charters out of there and you should be able to find something to suit your needs. Stuart and Jensen beach area, is also a good idea if you don't mind driving around 2 and a half hours. Or even Miami for a 4 hour drive. Good Luck. Wish I was in town i coulda taken you out for some redfish or trout in the Indian River.

drive down to daytona beach shores they have a pier where you can catch shark and just down the road they have a dailey charter boat.

Cap'n Redbeard speaks the truth.

If you wanna take a side trip, head to St. Augustine, it's a cool town, and oldest in the US i think, and great fishing. Jody (or Jodie) Lynn Charters is regarded as one of the best in the state, top notch folks. If they are booked, they can refer you. Have fun!
