Is it ok to age cigars in those cardboard 3-packs or should they be removed and aged in a humidor/cedar evnviroment?

I'm not sure if cardboard would experience mold at 70% humidity but I probably wouldn't chance it.

I take cigars out of the cardboard unless they're short timers like Piedra fiver's or something else relatively low rent. All the good stuff gets snuggled up to the wood. ;)

I'm with Wilkey on this one. I recently bought some Trinidad Reyes and Robusto Extras that came in cardboard boxes and they had a distinct cardboard smell that I did not like. It took a month of humidor time to finally bring that tabacco and barnyard aroma to the surface.
