aging masterblends

Hey I was curious if any of you guys have had good luck aging your Master Blends #2 to give them more flavor or if I should just not worry about it and smoke them as soon as I get them. Any info is appreciated. And as always thanks in advance.

I think in general the Master Blend's are quality cigars, I do not see a great upside to ageing these cigars. I suspect 18-24 months and they hit their peak.

ok thanks for the response. I think I will try letting a few of them sit for a year or so just to see if there is a difference, but I will start smoking the rest of them. Thanks again Emo

Carefull! I had critter issues with some Master Blends. They don't improve with age. My$.02

Since the Master Blends 2 only came out in September/October 2005, it is a little early to determine if age is going to help. Give them a year or two at least.

Now, the Master Blends 1 improved considerably with a couple of years of age on them. I have a box of torpedos that I bought in January 2004. They have developed very nicely...much better cigar than when I bought them and much better than the current Master Blends 2 (which I am still not convinced are not rebanded MB Is).

There's my 0.02.

Perhaps same tobaccoe varietiesand blend, only from a different vintage crop?

I had a sample of the Master Blends II at the RTDA. It was a robusto. Dark, oily wrapper. Nothing like the cigars being sold on the shelves today. I won't accuse them of a "bait and switch," but....... :whistling: Based on that sample, I expected much more from the MB II.

If I were getting a whole box I would smoke 4-5 now and then put them down for awhile and sample a couple every six months or so to see how they're doing.
