With the current new reinvent of the once popular Lancero roll, I've found myself more and more drawn to the feel and in some cases, the ease of the Lancero draw. I'm sure there's more to be listed but off the top of my head without a Google we have...

Illusione
The new Rockys (Old World etc)
Coronado by La Flor Lancero
La Flor Dominicana DL Oscuro Lancero
Tempus by Alec Bradley Lancero
Oliva Serie V Lancero

The other night I was at the local B&M for a Poker Tournament and spied my yard cigar in the lancero roll. Upon further questioning, I find the Flor De Oliva bundles have a 7x38 they're calling a Panatela. I guess technically that would conform to the definition but since the last panatela I smoked was a DUTCH MASTERS CAMEROON ELITE (man that was a long time ago) I guess that size can be interpreted as inter-changeable. But I digress....

per Wiki..
* Panatelas – longer and generally thinner than Coronas
o Small Panatela (5" x 33)
o Carlota (5 ⅝" x 35)
o Short Panatela (5" x 38)
o Slim Panatela (6" x 34.9)
o Panatela (6" x 38)
o Deliciados/Laguito No. 1 (7 ¼" x 38)

With the Flor de Os being 7x38, I'd say they fall into the Deliciados/Laguito slot.

Anyway, I tried one and liked it very much (good draw, good burn, same Flor de O taste) so if you've been bitten by the Lancero bug and still like to have a bunch of $2 that conform to your standards, I'd suggest trying some of these. They work for me. :cool:
 
I'm liking the lancero size more and more also. The JdN antano lancero is a good one as well. I'll have to check out the FdO's....thanks.
 
When I first started smoking, I chased any ring gauge that was 50 and above, but now that I've been smoking a little longer, my preferences have changed to the lanceros. To me, there is more full-bodied flavor packed into the smaller ring gauges, as it takes a level of skill to roll them and still pack in the same amount of ligero and tobacco.


Lanceros are definitely my vitola of choice, but I don't limit to them either.
 
Glad to see that a few folks are turning toward narrower gauge smokes, as it gives me hope that the market in general will turn back this way. :)
 
Don't forget to add the La Flor Dominicana "Camaroom" - Camaroon Lancero. This was a special release in 2007 - if you can find any :cool:
 
I really like the Nestor Miranda SS. Great smoke for the price. I did a small review of one HERE. Lookin' forward to smokin' more lanceros soon... :thumbs:

I've been in love with the laguito No. 1 [size] since I started smoking... I have always tried to convince people that you aren't a sissy for smoking a long, thin cigar, and it's finally catching on... :D

Shit, I just lit mt shirt on fire. I set my blazer down and apparently the lock was on.

The lancero has always been a coneseur's cigar. It doesn't surprise me that the up and coming companies would try to get some of that market niche. They can't rely only on the grumpy old sea dogs.
