An Apology

I was gonna stay out of this, but I'll say this and be done with it.

John is my friend. He showed me this board, and I know him to be a very good guy. I also know that John screwed up. Just because he's my friend does not mean that I'm gonna take his side and tell everybody to back off. I warned him a couple of months ago that something like this may happen when he started doing several trades simultaneously (did I spell that right Bill?). I told John on the phone that everybody had a right to be pissed at him. He knows he deserves the lumps he's taking, and I hope he hangs in there and doesn't leave us. He's a good person and I believe he can still make a positive contribution to this community. I think this serves as a reminder to us all why you shouldn't slack off on your commitments.

As far as my name being used as an excuse, I must have missed that. I never took it that way.

Eric - stay out of it. You're not in it. You're not linked with KB as far as your trading habits. You're a good man. He's your friend - we know that - and you can still be his friend. And I hope it doesn't cause you to rethink your friendships here on CP. Forget about the pass thing - enjoy the El Doble - you deserve it and it's a good smoke!

KB should have written your puts/takes in the pass. I'm not sure why that didn't happen - he never explained it - it does happen from time to time - no big deal. You can't fix it now unless we re-route it to you, which ain't gonna happen as much as you would like it to!! It didn't ruin the pass, just made it a little more difficult for others to understand what was there and not there when it got to them. Fortunately, the others have written in his puts/takes - it's all good. KB - in the future - please make sure you write in your puts/takes. It makes everything better down the line. There's no guesswork involved.

KB - you know I like you - you know how I feel about all this mess - and I sincerely hope you do the right thing with everyone who is upset about this situation. You got in over your head - it's understandable - there's some great smokes floating around this and other boards. My wife is gonna lop off my nuts if she sees me going crazy with the checkbook over cigars again (there was the little matter of a bunch of nice Opus' I couldn't live without around Xmas time - she brought up a good point - food and Xmas gifts OR cigars), so believe me that I understand where you're at. The only piece of advice I can give you about that - THEY WILL MAKE MORE CIGARS - HAVE PATIENCE, GRASSHOPPER... You'll have the opportunity to buy and try ALL KINDS of cigars - quit chasing the Holy Grail!!!

John, you want the respect of your fellow CPers. You want them to view you as an honest and fair trader. You screwed up a tad, and you can still make it right if you choose to. You've seen what the other side of that coin is, and it ain't pretty. It is not too late to make it right.
