An eBay pipe listing should have....

Multiple photos, with close-ups, of the pipe. At a minimum, both sides and top of the bowl, both sides of the stem, and the stampings, if any are legible.
If it's a high-end or collectible pipe, a COMPLETE description of any chips, dings or other damage.
Rapid responses to questions are a must. If any listing has one, out-of-focus, picture and the description is a one-sentence "Just a beautiful pipe, a must-have, blah, blah, blah..." just close the window and go back to searching.

It seems that pipes have become a hot item and every rummage sale shopper is putting up no-name pipes as though they were Dunhills from the '30's.

Just my .02, FWIW. :rolleyes:
