An extreme newbie with some broad questions.

andtasmo,
All of us at some point were in the type of boat you are in. Until a couple of months ago, I'd never owned a humi. I'd buy three sticks a week. By the time I got to the third, it was harder than a teenage boy on prom night! I recommend get two or three sticks. All different kinds. Tell the store owner you are new! This will save you a trip to the bathroom from being sick. Get "light colored wrappers". And if you are a flavor cigar guy, try CAO's. That's how I started, and now I hardly ever will take a flavored stick. Put the two or three sticks in a zip lock bag in your dresser. The key is sealing them up. And if you don't want to start out buying a 40 dollar humi, try finding a "Cigar Jar". That was my first kind. And never be afraid to ask a question on here, about cigars.

Also pick up a torch...or zippo....BIC's are crap...

Enjoy your stay here.. I know I have.. alot of good ppl on this forum..

A nice cheap smoke I enjoy regularly is the Sancho PAnza maduro..roughly 2.50 a stick..
No Zippo the fuel renders a bad taste. Stick with butane, matches after the sulfur has burned off or cedar. I live about 50 miles east of you. LMK if want to know about the good places for cigars. PM me if necessary.

you know, I am a Zippo fan. I like my zippo. Why does everyone hate them so? I've never really had a bad taste.

Yeah PM a member if you have anymore questions. That's why you and the rest are here.

the simple reason why is, whenever you flip open a zippo don't you smell that Fuel smell? That's the smell/flavor that will get imparted to your cigar if you put the cigar into the flame.

Although I do hear Zippo agrees with this statement, BUT, that if you light the Zippo and wait a few seconds for the fumes to burn off, then it's fine.

But in the end, if your cigars taste fine then that's all that matters.

I pm'ed you a few days ago but I guess it didn't go through for some reason. Anyway, yeah, sure. I'd like to know some good places to buy from. Anything good in either Crestwood or U-City?

I like to use a Zippo as a matter of convenience but have experienced the "Zippo tast" due to lack of patience too many times. Now I primarily use matches because I have to wait for the flame to go down some so I can do my best to light the cigar in the center.
