Great contest Doc
Congrats Roy R

I am a bit confused by something though.

USS Wisconsin launched December 7 1943 and commissioned on April 16, 1944

USS Missouri launched on January 29, 1944 and commissioned on June 11, 1944

A ships birth is determined by the day her keel is layed.

Doc.
edited to change the word hull to keel. It's more accurate and sounds saltier

I must say I learned a lot from this contest. I started googleing answers but ended up reading about USN history instead of looking for answers.

Doc, I see by your title change that you're no longer our resident STD expert?

Well, there doesn't seem to be much of a need around here for that particular service. Don't hesitate to contact me however if you're in need of such attention. :whistling:

Thank you all for your participation. It's nice to know that google isn't the end all and be all of Historical researh.

Congrats Roy, excellent job. This was a tough one. I have to admit it, I guessed on #17 and was just flat out wrong on several others. Thanks Devil Doc, this was a great contest.

Doc, the package arrived today, and you have my sincere thanks! The best thing is that I've never smoked any of them before. I recognized one, but all the others didn't exist(or I just didn't know about them) 6-7 years ago, when I gave up regular cigar smoking.

Thanks again,
RRF

LOL! You are quite right. I am ignorant about many of these new brands and lines that have emerged during my smoking hiatus. The high tobacco tax in NYC has been an effective deterrent in keeping me out of the local b&m's humidors.
