I too had a visit from the beetle fairy...

after re-checking..here is what I lost

AF cuban belicoso
cao maduro robusto
partagas serie d #4
Gurkha regent
Punch grand cru
monte white tubo
Rascc
Montecristo mini belicoso
montecristo belicoso
(my good stuff)
thank god my cheapo humidor with my everyday smokes is okay

sucks...

I guess ir comes with the territory..

I thought the tobacco beetle was something that happened only to the negligent. This has certainly woken me up to the danger of this happening to my stock.

I usually only freeze sticks when I have a temp scare but the two recent "horror story" posts have me seriously considering freezing everything before it goes in the humi.

Sorry to hear about your smokes Matty. That's a tough blow.

Andrew,

Shouldn't have put that in writing.

How big are these suckers anyway? (will it be obvious that you have them or do you have to find the holes?)

It is pretty obvious, you can by the trail of dead they leave. The holes are about the same size (Depending on the damage)as the beetles themselves. The little bugger I caught was maybe 1/4 of an inch (just guessing)

damn this sucked

Time to go re-check the cooler, and the cooler temp, and then re-humidify the cooler since I'll have the door open and lose all that's in there.

Was 70ish the temp that will start them going?

Can't I just spray all my cigars with some type of insecticide?

(just kidding about that last one)
