Oscar Peterson one of jazzes great innovators has passed and will be missed.....he was one of my personal favorites and was instrumental in broadening my appreciation for the genre as a whole.

Rest in Peace Oscar, keep tickling the ivory in heaven!

Called The Maharajah of the Keyboards by Duke Ellington his his unique "walking boogie" technique became a foundation of jazz pianists. Truly a great man on the ivories.

Pieces from The Oscar Peterson Trio and Thelonious Monk were among the first real jazz I ever heard - both pianists now gone.

I am not a man of Faith, but if there is a heaven they have one hell of a band up there.

OMG, I can't believe he is dead.
The world of music has lost a giant.

I have a bunch of his albums and have seen him live a number of occasions.
He could move his left hand faster then most pianists could their right.

His piano solo on Blues Etude (from the album "The Trio") is the best piano solo I have ever heard.
