Anti-Castro Sign at WBC

the guy should be dead shortly, no more than ten years imho!.....................................CASTRO should be dead in ten years, i should have been more definitive.

They should have taken Angel Iglesias, vice president of Cuba's National Institute of Sports and put him in a cage with a couple of hard core criminals for a couple of hours, and let them turn him into a bitch.

Imagine the international incident that would have caused. lolol

Kinda wish they would keep the political crap out of this tourney.

That's just *kinda* not gonna happen, given Cuba's participation.

The sign, or more precisely, it's message, is definitely not "crap" by the way. ;)

If this was a political event I would agree with you. Not arguing the content of the message, putting politics into sports is crap in my opinion. Through out the years sports have bonded peoples of differing opinions. The stage of sport has given many a person a chance to be equal, to forget differences and compete to be the best.
Using a sporting event to relay a political message is a shame. Yeah it has been happening for years and years, especially on the world stage, but it doesn't make it right.

Castro is a no good dirty SOB. Any other opinion of him is ill-concieved.

Doc.

Amen and damn straight.

And Peekay, maybe you know and maybe you don't, but there are no other "forums" or so-called "political events" for the people of Cuba, or its exiles, to proclaim or relay such messages wherein Cuba is participating as a nation.

Now, what's a true shame is the people, some of whom are my family who couldn't leave back in 1958, who are being forced to live under that tyrant, terrorist and murderer. Shouldn't have to forget that, or put it aside, during some WBC game. Message much appreciated.

Greetings! Yes, I agree with Doc. Fidel Castro is one of the few remaining "dinosaurs" of a failed political system, namely his brand of communism. Long live the right of free speech and expression in the free world! As an American citizen, I am very thankful for our many liberties, provided that we do not infringe upon the rights of others. Regards, knightlaird

You have a good reason not to like Castro, I probably would too in similar circumstances. But I don't like political posturing in peaceful world events, the WBC was almost killed by these actions. All nations are guilty are of something, we just don't need a sign to tell us so.

I applaud the Puerto Rican police for not arresting the man or removing him from the game. Yes, I know it's our right as Americans, but too often I read about these rights being violated in similar situations...

Well Puerto Rico is a US providence. The only reason we didn’t induct them as a state is because they had so much damn debt accumulated. It is interesting how they still love fidel.
