One of my good friends enjoys hunting and cigars and beer. We get along great. His favorite is to have a stogie (Macanudo) around the campfire.

He and his brother in law always, always, end up with a cigar that looks like the tip was a piece of old bubble gum! When I'm finished, the tip is a little moist, but still holding together like a champ. He is always pulling filler/etc. out of his mouth or spitting.

I've told him that is because he practically ate the cap!! He says it "fits" in his mouth better, and cools off the smoke. I guess I can't disagree with him, but I'm not planning on trying it soon.

SO, da you chew?

Well that's just gross.

Sometimes when I'm working in the yard the tip gets a bit wet and squashed but never messy like that.

I was at a B&M in Milwaukee WI a couple years back, and one of the employees was smoking/chewing on a cigar when we were there. As we left, Linda said "did you see that cigar that was in that guys mouth", I said yes, that's why we left, I was getting sick. It looked like a soggy foot to a Graycliff Bamboo, just tattered, torn and soggy as hell, just disgusting.

Depends on the type of the cigar. If I'm smoking a Davidoff or an Opus, that's going to be smoked delicately, and appreciated, part of that is gently drawing and keeping the cap intact. Now if I'm working, or outside and active, and smoking a Padron regular line, or an El Legend-ario, I might clench it in the teeth a bit more, or chew on the end and spit a bit. So yes, I do chew sometimes on a "rougher" or more "hearty" type of cigar.

Worst result of chewing on a cigar was the time that we were drunk playing street hockey, and I was chewing on a RyJ Maduro...accidentally bit off and swallowed a decent size chunk. Needless to say I got a tad bit sick.

I've seen them do it time and again! It is not a pretty sight. Damn comical watching them spit every draw to get the crap out of there mouth!!!

I tried to do that on a 5 Vegas Artisan. I don't know how they do it. I think Wade had it right. Leave the knob gobbling for the wife
