Anyone do Free To Air (FTA) satellite receiving?

Friend used to do it about 4 years ago, but the reprogramming on a daily basis got to be too much of pain in the ass. We'd be in the middle of a movie and the damn thing would go down, then it would be another couple of hours before a fix was posted. It was fun for a while, but he finally pulled the plug. Let me know if the scene is different now.

Its been about 4 years as well...when they changed to the new encryption it was game over. When things were running, it was awesome.
