Brothers and Sisters,

I'll tell ya, I'm just freakin' bummed. ??? I watch the news (Fox News) and see the men and women of our Armed Forces dyin' and it truly freakin' bothers me. As a Marine Corps Vet, I hate to see my Brother Marines die. I know they believe in what they are doing, as do I, and they are truly giving their all for our Country. :D It makes me sick to see all of the anti-war advocates spewin' their rhetoric (their right to do so) when our guys are in the middle of Hell defending the rights we all enjoy. They should be damn glad they're over there doing it.

We have guys/gals eatin' one meal a day, workin' 22 hours a day and sleepin' two hours a night. For what, pennies on the hour. Talk about "sweat-shop" conditions. Where is al of the support for the over worked, under-paid people out there. And are our guys/gals complainin' about it?! NO!!!! They're doin' their job for the love of their Country. :D While the whiners and "human shields" are back here, enjoyin' the safety we provide!

People die in war and that must be expected. More enemy forces will die and that is also a shame. However, Sadam is an EVIL man and he WILL be removed. I just hope for the best for our Troops as well as our Allied Troops. They are trained well and will defeat the Iraqi forces. There is no doubt about it.

What got me was a small boy, when told his dad had been killed in action, put on a camo t-shirt, in honor of his dad and hasn't taken it off. Also, a small girl, when sayin' hello to her dad on the TV, said she loved him and then started cryin'! ??? Call me a softie, but that hit me hard!

We njoy the freedoms we do because of our GREAT Nation! We enjoy them becasue of the sacrafices of the men and women of the Armed Forces! Our Forces are walkin' in harms way every minute of the day while we go about our everyday lives as if nothing is going on. Remember September 11th? Multiply that by 24/7!!

God Bless our Armed Forces! God Bless the Marine Corps! God Bless our Freedoms and Inalienable Rights! And if you have a problem with "God Bless" being in the aforementioned statements, I feel sorry for you! My God watches over me and I pray you god watches over you!

God Speed to the familes of our Troops. May their pain be eased by their faith and love of Country!

Thanks for allowing me to vent. ??? I apologize if I have offended anyone! I believe in what I have said. I love my Country and beleive in what we are doing. Their loss of life will not be in vain!

AMEN BROTHER

I would like to say as another Marine vet, and a combat vet. I know what there going thru over there, and whether you agree with it or not. We at home need to support the troops. The emotions that they are going thru and not to mention the pure physical strain that war puts a body thru, is without a doubt extremely stressful, but it does help when you can see that your country is behind you.

ps: I did like the BBQ Beef MRE's :D

Very well said Floyd! Most of the "lets all share a big group hug" leftest don't seem to realize that Freedom is not Free!

I pray everyday for the boys and girls defending the rights of the same people protesting them being there. May god see them all home safely and comfort the family and friends of those that are not as fortunate.

God Bless America

I have a cousin in theater, along with a bud from my previous unit, my brother in law is heading out soon, and my next door neighbor is transferring to a unit next month that deploys to the gulf in 60 days. Once we go to war, it is too late for people to protest. If these people feel so strongly against war, where were they prior to war? Where were there protests? Apparently when you lead a life where everything is provided for, you don't realize how you got there. To all these idiots wanting to be human shields, I say do it, otherwise STFU.

As I watched the news tonight they talked to the wife of a young marine that had died there. As they came to the door to tell her she said her 2 yr old daughter just started screaming for her dad. Holding on to my 3yr old son I was almost in fricking tears. Thank God I did my time and am here now. But man I feel so bad for our folks there and for the ones here that love them and go minute to minute not knowing if they will ever see them. Lets keep there lives in our prayers also.

I have a couple of good friends over there right now. My prayer's go out to them and the rest of the soldiers who are protecting our way of life. So I ask everyone to have a smoke for our men and women who are putting there life on the line so we don't have to. And to all the protesters aginst the war out there I don't care if this offends you but if it wasn't for these men and women you would be able to protest. It is because of the brave men and women through out the years who have given you the freedoms you so enjoy.

Yes, God Bless our men and women who are laying their lives on the line for us back home every day. We owe everything we have to them.

But, I believe before one more is allowed to die, the USAF should just make a parking lot of Baghbad and be done with it. All the civilians have had ample warning to get out. There isn't anyone that's still there that's worth the life of one more american soldier.

I just found this and thought it fit in here!

The average age of the military man is 19 years.
He is a short haired, tight-muscled kid who, under normal circumstances is considered by society as half man, half boy. Not yet dry behind the ears, not old enough to buy a beer, but old enough to die for his country.
He never really cared much for work and he would rather wax his own car than wash his father's; but he has never collected unemployment either.

He's a recent High School graduate; he was probably an average student, pursued some form of sport activities, drives a ten year old jalopy, and has a steady girlfriend that either broke up with him when he left, or swears to be waiting when he returns from half a world away.

He listens to rock and roll or hip-hop or rap or jazz or swing and 155mm Howitzers.

He is 10 or 15 pounds lighter now than when he was at home because he is working or fighting from before dawn to well after dusk.

He has trouble spelling, thus letter writing is a pain for him, but he can field strip a rifle in 30 seconds and reassemble it in less time in the dark.

He can recite to you the nomenclature of a machine gun or grenade launcher and use either one effectively if he must.

He digs foxholes and latrines and can apply first aid like a professional.

He can march until he is told to stop or stop until he is told to march.

He obeys orders instantly and without hesitation, but he is not without spirit or individual dignity.

He is self-sufficient. He has two sets of fatigues: he washes one and wears the other. He keeps his canteens full and his feet dry.

He sometimes forgets to brush his teeth, but never to clean his rifle.

He can cook his own meals, mend his own clothes, and fix his own hurts. If you're thirsty, he'll share his water with you; if you are hungry, his food.

He'll even split his ammunition with you in the midst of battle when you run low.

He has learned to use his hands like weapons and weapons like they were his hands. He can save your life - or take it, because that is his job.

He will often do twice the work of a civilian, draw half the pay and still find ironic humor in it all. He has seen more suffering and death then he should have in his short lifetime.

He has stood atop mountains of dead bodies, and helped to create them.

He has wept in public and in private, for friends who have fallen in combat and is unashamed.

He feels every note of the National Anthem vibrate through his body while at rigid attention, while tempering the burning desire to 'square-away' those around him who haven't bothered to stand, remove their hat, or even stop talking. In an odd twist, day in and day out, far from home, he defends their right to be disrespectful.

Just as did his Father, Grandfather, and Great-grandfather, he is paying the price for our freedom.

Beardless or not, he is not a boy.

He is the American Fighting Man that has kept this country free for over 200 years.

He has asked nothing in return, except our friendship and understanding.

Remember him, always, for he has earned our respect and admiration with his blood.

Prayer For our Military

"Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need.
Amen."

Well put. The quote I cut out is something I go through every time I attend my kids soccer games. I see a lot of truth in the whole thing though. Reminds me of some of the guys that work for me.
