Anyone go horseback riding?

So my girlfriend and I decided to go horseback riding. We went to this stable near Los Angeles and rode in the Hollywood Hills. Very pretty. First time I've ever really gone riding, so we thought it would be fun to go for 2 hours. The next day I felt muslces ache I didn't even know I had...

I didn't know my horse was the lead horse. About 5 minutes into the ride my girlfriend decides to make her horse RUN past me, and all of a sudden my horse takes off without notice and passes her horse. I couldn't get the damn thing to stop, and it was quite bouncy!!! :whistling:

Anyways, it was fun and I'd definately do it again. I forgot my camera, but there will be pictures next time.

I used to ride some a long time ago. I actually lived on a horse farm when I moved out of my parents house at age 18.

I rode with my wife and kids in Florida, near Cocoa Beach about 5 years ago. It was very nice and Rod, I know what you mean about muscles hurting! LOL

When they gallop, be sure you have all of your "furniture" in the same room...... :laugh: :0

My wife and I went riding one time on my birthday.
We went to a stable at the Dole plantation,and rode in the hills in the middle of the Island. It was a good time.
It took a few days for those sore muscles to settle down :laugh:

I've trained and showed em for longer than many folks here have been alive. Been out of the biz for several years, but now that I'm re-employed, unattached and the kids are grown, I'm headed back into it ASAP :thumbs:

Took the wife out for her first ride ever last May for her birthday. She was a bit sore too the next day but I don't know how much you can blame the horse. :0 :blush:

Funny, I acquired a horse by marriage. And, since then the herd has grown to 4 horses. There's an emotional commonality between women and horses that I think most men (including myself) just don't get. For me, they're akin to big dogs, but many women just love them. Different strokes...

BTW, I did learn one piece of advice out of it all that I will surely pass onto my son -- and, that is to that horses are an excellent hobby for a young, single guy. The horse stable in college was crawling with lots of fit co-eds running around in tights -- and the guy-to-girl ratio was so low...

I trained foals for a while in college but have only been ridding once in the last few years.

My wife and I went with my parents to Wyoming about a year ago and we went ridding in the mountains during a light snow. Wyoming is gorgeous!!

first job i got after i finished grade 12 was as a cowboy on a large cattle ranch great job crappppy pay.

rod...that bouncing that hurts(til you learn to squeeze with your knees)is the same reason every woman on a horse is smiling.
