Anyone have any info on cigar2u.com?

I have a newphew who has been deployed in Iraq with the US Army since September 2005 (second tour).

He caught the cigar bug over there, and has been ordering cigars from cigar2u.com. He'd have them shipped here (Minnesota) and I would send them to him. Everything went real smooth, except for one shipment of Acid C-Notes that was affected by Katrina, but we did eventually receive them, and cigar2u made us aware of the fact that they were delayed.

He recently placed a couple of orders through them (on June 4th). His credit card was charged June 4th, but I haven't received the shipment yet (shipping method was 7 to 10 days).

When I go out to their web site, it says they are "Under Construction". When I call the toll free number on the invoice, I get the "phone lady" message (not a cigar2u message) that says the number is "not in service". I've tried calling information to see if there was another number for "cigar2u", but they couldn't find anything even close. That's not a total surprise as their company could be listed under a very different name than actually "cigar2u".

Is anyone aware of their business status? I have no idea where to try to find out, and found this forum through Google. I thought I'd take a shot on whether anyone here may know something.

Any information on their status or any suggestions on where else I may be able to look for information would be GREATLY appreciated.

Sounds strange, hopefully it's nothing. I wish I could help, keep us posted if you hear anything new.

I did send an e-mail to info@cigar2u.com (their contact address on the web site). I just received a delivery receipt that says it was delivered, though that doesn't mean an awful lot.

If I find anything, I will post it.

Thanks again!

Just did a search and came up with this page...

Cigar2u Page

Is is actually someone's account and their cart is up to $3400+. ???

How secure can the site be if you can search and connect as a logged in user?

Shows his name, address, phone number.

Good thing they didn't have a credit card on file. This guy would have some very interesting shipments. :0

No kidding geldor1 thats messed up, his cart is now well over 4000 dollars...

I wonder if they ship to Germany :whistling: :sign:

Hello Mike,

Sorry to hear of your problem with Cigar2U.com. I've never hear of them nor purchased from them.

My immediate recommendation would be to notify your credit card and file a dispute of the charge. Let Mastercard and/or Visa sort it out.

Best of luck on your efforts and please pass my thanks on to your nephew for his service!

Tim,

I may just send him a link to your post - that will be thanks enough! (Just don't remove that picture quite yet!).

I will definitely send along your Thanks. It is appreciated.

geldor1,

I've seen that, too. I was able to get into that screen off a hit from Google and noticed a person's name actually attached to it. I logged into my nephews account to look up his invoices, printed them, then got out. Went back in, sure enough, it was his name on it now.

I went through as much of the "registration" process as I could, several times, and finally got it to show a blank user. Several times I've gone in I've seen different names on it.

Just another example of the things that make me feel like this is not going to have a real happy ending.

I have been all over his credit card company already and we are having the charges taken care of. I was hoping to not make this bad for cigar2u if they were truly just upgrading their site or some such thing, but it's looking more and more like that's not the case.

Thanks for your help, y'all. Yours seemed like a very welcoming community!

Hmmm, so sorry to hear you're having trouble. I've never ordered from them but I've been on their mailing list for a while. It seems like they'd email some special or another every three or four days but I haven't received anything from them since June 12th. No announcement of any website upgrades or interruption of anykind, however the last email was " CIGAR2U.com >>> TIME IS RUNNING OUT ON SUPER SPECIALS".

Apparently people are having fun with them now...the cart is up to $680346.68

make that 54,305,625,000.00

Or, just over 54 BILLION dollars...man, and Laurie thinks MY cigar budget is out of contol!

sub-total: $ 54305625000.00

But he's saved $42.49.

Subtotal $1199817574561.37
Tax $ 0.00
Shipping & Handling (Overnight) $19356477300.76
Grand Total $1219174051862.13

Wow, no sales tax if you spend more than a gazillion dollars?

And there we are, over a trillion.
$ 1,088,850,739,111.49

That guy sure likes his cigars.

Wait a minute....it went down? Did he decide to take something out of his cart?

19 billion dollars in shipping and handling...man, life sure is tough.

Yup...he has decided to cut back...it's down to $581,040,744,189.59
SOme months, I feel like I should only spend $581 Billion odllars on cigars...no need to get greedy.
