Anyone use espresso ESE pods?

I'm using a 15bar pump espresso machine that came with an ESE pod adapter. I bought some illy espresso pods but when I use them the machine sounds like its straining to push the water through abnormally hard and it takes like 2 minutes for me to get 1 shot of espresso. Does this sound normal?

I have experience with these too. To solve your problem before putting pod in you need to knead it with your thumbs or fingers which ever is most comfortable for you. These pods come packed rather hard in which this task will free it up a bit :thumbs:

That is way too long. Kneading will help.

Knead one real well, and time the brew.

if it is over 20-25 seconds, pack it a little tighter until you get the right timing.

That is excellent coffee.
