applying custom bands

I've decided to offer up a box of custom banded smokes at my wedding. The prices I've been quoted have been way too high, so I've decided to do it myself. Does anybody know the correct way to apply the bands? Using glue doesn't seem right, but I'm not sure what other options there are.

This took me about 10 minutes to make, and the Cohiba one I also tried looks great. That'll be for decoration on my coolidor; I'm not trying to be a pud and put it on a smoke! If anybody else is making labels, Kinkos has a paper called "Glossy Text" that's good for this. Then your labels are printed on a color laser printer, glossy paper (but not the thick stuff), and it cost me $2 for a page with 20 labels on it.

i'd mix some pectin into a nice paste and try it on a cheapo or phillie or somethin. worst case senario, you have a phillie for cousin mike that can tell a cuban from a cooban. ;)

I forget what it's called, but there is a cigar wrapper repair glue that comes in a tiny bottle, it's the same stuff used to apply the cap and bands...I'll take a look at it in the shop tommorow and get you the brand name.

Basically it is Pectin.... can be purchased in the canning department of a supermarket. I got mine from Walmart.

Let me know if you have trouble finding it....
