Just smokin
Well, I've finally recovered from my trip to the Domincan Republic, hosted by Arganese Cigars. I must say that it was an amazing experience and truley educates you in what it REALLY takes to make a good cigar. Gene was an excellent host. His house in the DR is amazing and his DR right hand man Cristobal is fantastic. We had a chef while we were there, open bar, and days full of excursions to the fields, processing plant, cigar factory, box factory etc.
Gene makes a great cigar, and wait till you get to smoke the CL3 and ML3 cigars that are coming out this summer. They were amazingly good smokes. Everything is grown in a Cuban style in the DC. We learned how the DR does it typically and then were shown the differences between the styles. Gene's tobacco is first generation cuban seed, which is interesting. Basically, he's reproduced the cuban style of growing and processing tobacco and imported it into the dominican republic.
