I can't believe there isn't more discussion about these very nice smoking and relatively cheap cigars. I got an ML3 and CL3 from Niko in a newbie sampler and loved them both. Both of them had great taste and spice, with the maduro having very nice earthy, coffee tastes.

I thought about them toady with the buy one box get another free from Famous. I couldn't resist . . .

Great nic kick and although not the most complex smokes they are really solid.

I got an Arganese Connecticut Presidenté from Famous Smoke with my "pick-a-sampler" order; I guess it was free. It's still sitting in my humidor. Maybe I'll smoke it tonight.

Now that's hilarious... :sign:

CAO Eileen's Dream is a combination of Irish Cream & white chocolate truffles. Superior Irish Whiskey, frothed cream, and coconut milk composes the Irish Cream. The delicacy of white chocolate truffles is a sublte mixture of hazlenut paste, white chocolate, ground almonds, cocoa, and vanilla extracts. This avalanche of flavours is infused into a cigar with Grade One Cameroon wrapper and mild Dominican fillers to complete this five-star reverie.

Come on guys, TRUFFLES.

A stretch, but it could happen. He could be one of the lucky ones who can actually pick those out. Besides, I think you're being harsh on the Arganese.

Your post serves no real purpose. Being new to this site has nothing to do with what someone tastes in a cigar.

Gene from Arganese was at the Cigar Pass Herf in Vegas last summer. I'll say up front that I wouldn't have purchased one of their cigars on my own but Gene had many cigars to hand out both before and during the Herf and I was able to smoke a selection of 3 over the course of the weekend. One of them left me cold (don't remember the line) but I was pleasantly surprised by the Maduro and the Nicaraguan that I smoked. Having said that, slapping down a newbie because his tastes don't align with yours is pretty lame, Chemyst. Who knows, maybe he has refined tastes and your taste sucks ;)

I agree, the Argenese are great cigars and Gene is a very nice guy with a great product. That's a win win in my book.

Yep yep, my sentiments exactly.

I was at the Cigar Pass Herf in Vegas when Gene was there promoting his cigars...I enjoyed them. Everyone has their own tastes. Maybe Chemyst's taste buds and smell buds are convoluted by chemicals...

Good man, decent cigars, terrible advertisements.

Madison Ave? Not a chance. Just Gene, his love for good cigars, and some well-planned action to make them and get them to market.

I've not only met Gene, but been to his HQ in Rhode Island to see his distribution center. He and his staff were, and are, very hospitable hosts, and I do like many of his sticks. If I could have afforded a pay cut, I would be selling them for Gene right now.

If you don't like them, don't smoke them. Me, I have great respect for cigars that I don't care to smoke, but I don't begrudge the makers. They have their market, it's just not me. Gene has his, and he's earned it by producing what he likes and finding other people who also enjoy them.

This might be showing how new I am to cigars, but I have never had, or heard of Arganese.
Any relation to Manganese J/K

I have also met Gene. He is a nice fellow. I think his cigars taste very good, except for the harsh metallic and very bitter aftertaste that develops very quickly when smoking his sticks. If it werent for that, I would love his sticks.

I however IMHO would NEVER begrudge another person their tastes in cigars, or berate them for being a "noob". That attitude has absolutely positively no place on a well regarded cigar forum.

Way too harsh. I first heard about Arganese cigars last year, as I received a bomb that contained some of his creations. I decided to give them a try and instantly loved the blend. I immediately pulled flavors out of the cigars such as chocolate, coffee, etc. These flavors weren't subtle, they were quite prominent. I immediately did some research on the cigars, contacted Gene, and asked if he would come to the CP herf last year. He went out of his way to fly to Vegas to attend the herf. Not only did he make a personal appearance, but he also donated a ton of his premium cigars. Gene is now a supporter or CigarPass, in more ways than one.

You've not only insulted all newer members, but also the man behind Arganese. I can honestly say Gene puts a lot of passion in creating his cigars, and it's pretty clear it's not for the money.
