How were you able to get a tour of their factory?

I was reading that they do not give tours because they are basically in the free trade area of D.R. and are fenced off sort of like a military compound?

Nope. They are made in a special export-only trade free zone (all of Fuente's cigars are, as are a number of other manufacturer's).

You can't buy cigars there any more than you can buy Nike's at a factory in China.
