As a newb still, I feel utterly useless at trying to review this or any cigar. I've been holding onto this one for about a year and last night I got to smoke it with a nice glass of Knob Creek on the rocks.

Great cigar I thought not too overpowering and great Fuente construction, but $30 good enough? Not likely. Anyone else want to rule in on this one?

Funny you say this. I was in my shop today wanting to buy a couple sticks on the more expensive end. Recently i've been smoking a ton of Cubans and the only domestics that have really done it for me lately have been Opus'. Today I bought a Diamond Crown Maximus and then I was torn between a VSG and ESG. I couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger on a $30 ESG, so I went with the VSG. I'm going to try them both within the next month or so, I am eager to see how I like them.

On another note, given my recent profile selection of CC's, it's really bugging me. I've smoked some very highly regarded NC's and they just don't do it for me. I think I have really spoiled myself and got myself into this mind set that I only like CC's which is unfortunate because I know I'm missing out on many great cigars out there.....

The ESG Churchill took a fair amount of resting time to improve...they are smoking well now after over a year of resting in my humi.

A cigar is a cigar, is a cigar. There are so many good NC's as there are so many good ISOM's ;)

At $20 plus per stick, I'm not interested. Not with all the other quality cigars one can get at half the price.

I've tried a few of the churchills and the robustos. No more for me.

The price is really the issue, not the country of origin of the cigar. It takes a pretty special cigar to be worth $30. I'm assuming you live in CA or somewhere that tobacco taxes are terrible, because the MSRP for the ESGs is $18.

I'm in CA and have two B&Ms near my house I go to on a regular basis. One sells the ESG for $40, the other for $22. They are walking distance from each other if you can believe that.

TBH, it's cheaper for me to trade for one here or purchase from guys in other states. CA is outrageous when it comes to sales within the state. You guys would flip is you saw the humidor at my shop. All of what I trade and buy here I smoke for myself. What a godsend this place has been this past month and 1/2.

Picked it up in Oklahoma City, but to my knowledge, they were the only store in the city that had them. (nice pronoun usage)

the churchills were brand new last year when I picked it up. maybe the price has gone down now. lots of hype and market delay if I remember

Not worth the money, even at the low, low price of $18.

X2 - not the price, the comment. :D I would be interested in trying one with additional age, though. But I doubt that will happen at that price point and my cigar budget.

If you can get to the Tinderbox on Robinson in Downtown before 5 Mon - Fri..he did have some and he sells his stuff at MSRP...

I bought mine at Revolutions on 39th and Portland? Tinderbox is where I usually go for my other stuff. He's definitely the lowest in town. Since I left Oklahoma City, I've not been able to get in during his hours.

I wish he was open on Saturdays but I don't think the building he is in is open then..The last time I was in and talked with him he said he will ship out.

I have not been to Revolutions..How long has it been there?
