ATI video cards on Ebay

All 9700pro's and lower. Only card now to have on hand is the 9800pro and the new gen cards like the x800. All the others will not run games like HL2 or Doom the way they should be run.

I just installed a 9600xt and Doom 3 runs really well. Not with ultra detail on, of course, but then my Athlon 2600+ isn't exactly up to that either. :D

Actually my biggest problem is slow mouse response, even though I've got the sensitivity cranked up as high as it will go. Maybe I need a desktop with more detail for the optical sensor. :D

If there is a card to have under the 9800pro the XT version of the 9600 would be it. I guess my main response is that PCI express is here and the next gen cards are going to blow away what we have now. Everyone that has a 9700 and lower (I'll leave xt versions of 9600 out of this and maybe even the 9700) but anything else needs to go. Just won't be a market for this in a year whatsoever. Not sure on the mouse problems. I know logitech has the 510 (?) available now. I have the 300 series optical and it runs smooth as silk. I had an issue last night playing FH. Seems I had something running in my background causing mouse lag. It was a nefarious version of syscache. Kept my hourglass going the whole time even when I wasn't doing anything. Removed it from my firewall list and when it promted me to allow it again I did a perm block. Never really got rid of it but it can't hit the net anymmore.

While we're talking meece, the first gen. logitech's (wireless) were terrible about drain on the batteries... any change?

I can't help there. Always going to be a latency with wireless mice. I game allot and need every edge I got. I'm using the MX310 (I think, could it be the 510?) optical USB and its all good right now.

They have come a long way in the last year or so. Most of the wireless I see say they can be left uncharged up to a month with the batteries that they have.
