I guess the government does care about the health of its people, along as it doesn't cut into their revenues.

I think someone convinced them that if the revenue dried up, AC as a town would be finished. The only thing that saved it to begin with was the casinos. :whistling:

This should punch a huge hole in any smoking ban's claim that it is for health related reasons. I don't know why other businesses aren't banding together to join in a class action lawsuit on the grounds that if it hurts the governments income then it sure as hell is hurting other businesses. Maybe some of the counselors here at CP could weigh in but to me, it sure doesn't give their health reason argument much merit.

Every day the local papers are talking about how the casinos are hurting during these economic times. Calling off expansion plans, laying off people, etc...this is another way to try and get people down there to spend some money.

The anti-smoking lobby is freaking out over this. They used AC as a major selling point to other states and put it in printed material!

The place is still a $hit hole everywhere other than inside a casino!
