Went to Wal-Mart today just to grab an archery target, but ended up leaving with a little more. I stopped for a second at the gun counter and noticed a Remingto 700 that wasn't there two days ago. Ask to take a look at it, and it was the SPS model chambered in .270. Generally you would find this rifle for around $580-$650 depending on where you shop. It was on clearance for a mere $300!!! Brand new and no mistakes or flaws to it. I had to be at a movie in 30 minutes so I was filling out the paper work as fast as I could. Made it to my 7PM movie at 6:59PM. :cool: I rarely look at any guns at walmart, but will be looking a lot more after finding this deal. Just wanted to let everyone know so you can keep your eyes out, and maybe wander up on one of these deals. :thumbs:
 
I wonder if that is just a Texas thing. I haven't looked at guns at Walmart in a long time, but I don't really remember them having much of a quality stock, or really good deals. I'll have to check it out now.

They never have had much, but here recently I have been running into some quality stock for amazing prices. They also have some Winchester model 70 bolt actions in a few different calibers for around $325. They already have a little piece of crap scope on them and everything, but a Leupold can always solve that problem. I am about to head to the range and get mine sighted in. I worked on it for 3 hours last night getting the trigger adjusted and the scope and everything mounted. I don't know who invented the bore-sighter, but they are one of my favorite people right now.
