B&M in Denver

Thanks for the reply. The tax is high, but still lower than AK. It does not matter anyhow. My girlfriend is going to be down there, and since I am missing X-mas, she wanted to know what she could get me on her trip. Lucky for her I have a list all ready to go.

Cool, another place for me to visit.
The other place someone recommended was Trios Enoteca.

I'm in Denver for business...it's fricken cold...well for a Southern Californian.
I never had to scrape my windows before :(

Okay, went looking for cigar stores...man, it kinda sucks here.

Most of the stores close before 7:00 pm!

One of the cigar bars I went to charged $66 for Opus X!
It was called Churchill's Cigar Bar on 17th and Broadway in Downtown Denver.

I was highly disappointed.

I'm gonna try the place lucasbuck suggested tomorrow...the original cigar store.

I visited The Original Cigar Store a couple of years ago. Great selection and a very nice shop but the prices are a bit high mostly due to Colorado's steep tobacco taxes.

Yea, Colorado Tobacco tax is high; 35% I believe, + a %5 sales tax. I was there for just one night a little while ago. I called around to see if anyone had some Anejo's, and it seemed that some people had them but would only sell to "regular" customers or if you bought $100 or more of cigars in the store. It just reinforced my desire to make sure I pack cigars around w/ me on my trips.

This guy claimed the largest walkin humidor in Colorado; he was the bloke insisting on a $100 purchase before you buy the $15 Anejo.

Good news is they close at 8pm.

"Gentleman Clubs" will almost always let you smoke in them, and the scenery is usually good. I checked out the Oasis, not too bad. But I hear the place to go is either the Diamond Cabaret or the Penthouse Club; all three will let you smoke cigars.

Have fun!

blue dragon,

thanks for the info...

I went through some tough crap today...I walked up and down Downtown denver for 2 hours and no cigars!

i will try the Tobacco Leaf tomorrow as well.
It's funny...both the Original Cigar store and the Tobacco Leaf are very close to each other.
They are both off the 121...one is north of the 6 fwy and the other is south!

Good for me that they are close.

Thanks blue dragon and lucasbuck for the suggestions.

As for fireguy...I know you're all the way up in Alaska, that must suck for cigars.
If you are betting on your girlfriend to get you some nice smokes for cheap, you might be disappointed in Colorado.

You're better off finding BOTLs on this site that can hook you up.
From my experience, all my nice cigars and deals have been due to this site.
It appears that CP is your best bet!

Edit: oops, didn't realize that you are in Iraq!

I am not really expecting her to get me anything in volume, or for cheap. I am missing X-mas, and I asked her not to get me anything for the holidays. She wanted to do something for when I got home, so, says I..."you could just pick me up a cigar or two when you are in Denver". I just wanted to send her somewhere that would be friendly.

While the tax in CO is bad, in AK it is 75% of wholesale price.

Stay Safe

fireguy,

I'll try to find a good shop for her to visit.
I'll give a report tomorrow, as soon as I visit those shops.

Take care man, come back as soon as you can.
You should put your home address on your personal profile...you may get bombed!
