Bargogirl tried her first cigar yesterday!!!

We went to the Tap-Inn, a cigar friendly bar and grill next to the Ole Grapevine Cigar Shop, for dinner and while I was enjoying a before, mid and after dinner smoke (Gurkha Centurion XX) she asked to try it....three times. I was very impressed! She didn't turn green once! In fact, I wouldn't say she loved it but I do think she'd be willing to try it again.

She was actually able to pick out the overtones of tobacco with slight hints of more tobacco. Her overall impression was that it tasted like tobacco and I agree with her on all points. Hopefully she'll give her first official newbie review soon.

Way to go Bargogirl.

What, no flavored cigar for Bargogirl??? That's a woman for ya!!! Don't let Excaliber know...

My wifey has been enjoying ISOM's of late... She graduated up from Acid's, to CAO Flavors, to some of the milder domestics... She's really starting to like the subtle flavors of ISOM's, but just like Bargogirl, she's describing them in terms of "tobacco" taste, just a nice tobacco taste...

Very Cool! My wife just tried a cigar for the first time the other day too. She tried the Gispert I was smoking and thought it tasted kind of like tequila (??). Then she had a whole macanudo ascot second to herself. This maybe catching for her. Then I won't feel so bad for smelling like a stogie. :)

I found a good article on introducing your spouse to
cigars @ http://www.cigarnexus.com/counsel/nuptials/index.html

Cigars may have always been a "good ol' boys" club but I'm really excited to be able to share something that I enjoy so much with my wife. And if she decides that it's not for her, that's great. I will always appreciate that she at least tried to share it with me too.

My woman is still on CAO flavors and I doubt she'll ever leave. Maybe it's because the one time she tired mine i lied and she got a big mouth of Opus X

Nice place. Good Club sandwich.
Crowd is a bit Mature, but that is better than being surrounded by the college crowd.

Now, wait a minute!! I asked to try it 3 times but I took about 12-15 puffs total! And I didn't throw up or anything like that(because I am so tough.)

Hints of tobacco?!? I said hints of licking an ashtray...get it straight!! :p  (no offense meant for fellow CPers just for my husband)

j/k the flavor was more appealing than a cigg. and I will certainly share another smoke (of equal or greater quality) with ya in the near future.

After that crack the next one's gonna be the Thompson I use as a desiccant when the humi gets too moist.

:sign: :sign: :sign: I have already foiled your evil plan!! This evening we shared an ISOM and only then did you realize I had thwarted your plan to withhold the good stuff from me!!! :p

I did notice the peppery taste in the flavor profile this time, so after about...let's say 20 more cigars, I might be able to pick out some other flavors!! ;)

Strike up the band - I might actually know what to put on my wish list soon!!
(That would be MY wish list not Preembargo's  - I'll have to buy a Humi just to keep him away from my stuff! ;) )
