rip! DON KNOTTS at 81 years young from pulmomary complications. his career spanned 50 years, seven tv series and 25 movies. the andy griffith show was number one for 25 years and finished while still on top. way to go BARNEY!........................edited for spelling.

Never funnier then as Cpl. John C. Brown in "No Time For Sergeants"

RIP Don.

RIP, what a great comedian. Him paired with Tim Conway was classic. At least we still have The Incredible Mr. Limpet.

I love that movie! I've never met anyone else who has even seen it.

Stockdale and Whitledge...

Sad day indeed. From Barney to Limpett to Mr. Furley he was one of my favorite character actors. Here is where I learned of the sad news today.

Yeah, he was great. He wrote most of the stuff he did in Andy Griffith, which takes his comedic status up a notch with me, as he was not only a great visual comedian, but a great writer also.

Not to mention, his "hometown" was only like 50 miles from me (Morganton, NC) even though he was born in Florida (or so the newspaper said, I'm not really sure).
RIP

One of my all time favorites. Don Knotts was one of the funniest men I have ever seen. "No Time for Sergeants" is outstanding.

I used to watch Andy Griffith reruns with my Grandpa all the time and really miss my almost Mayberry like hometown.

Mr. Knotts will be greatly missed. . .
