PS - on a more serious note, take the cigars with beetle holes out and quarantine them (smoke them). Put all of the others in 2 zip-loc bags and freeze them for 5 days...refrigerate them for 3 days after that...and then let them rest in your cooler or humi until they look happy.

FOGS - I have beetles too. I just started a cooler-dor last week. I bought a cheap bundle of smokes at a local B&M 3 weeks ago. They were in their own box in the cooler. Tonight I was going through my humidor, found 2 cigars in this box with beetle holes. I have 4-5 other boxes in this humidor, most contain various singles I have picked up.
My question for you FOGS is, as I have removed the offending box of sticks, should I freeze all of the other ones as you guys suggested earlier in this post? Is there a very good chance the beetles moved from the infected box to another one. BTW, there were 15 or so sticks in that box, and 2 have beetle holes.
Please give me any and all suggestions on how to proceed and protect my other singles. I have read lots of other beetle threads to educate myself, want to make sure freezing all of the rest of my sticks is what I need to do....

Unless you have access to a commercial freezer you're wasting your time freezing them at home. Home freezers simply aren’t cold enough to be effective.

This is the same thing I've been hearing. Seems like the home freezer makes people feel good, but doesn't get cold enough for long enough to ensure beetle destruction.
I've given up on putting mine in the freezer.

From what I've been told - the beetles will go dormant in the freezer. Yes - they won't be destoyed and they could come back.
"Tobacco beetles die at temperatures below 40F (4C), so freezing your infested cigars is the most effective way to kill any tobacco beetles. However, freezing does have its risks: the cold air can dry out the cigars, and if the cigars are warmed to quickly, they can split as the filler tobacco expands. Additionally, freezer smells can negatively impact the flavor of the cigars."
Never have a problem, keep my humi below 70 and beetle traps have never shown sign of any infestation. I'm probably also lucky.

It ain't the beetles you're trying to kill. It's the eggs. Which are quite capable of surviving the home freezer and latter hatching when you least expect it.
