When Death smiles, Corpsmen smile back
Today is Bennington Battle day, a state holiday in Vermont. To us, it's akin to the Alamo for Texans. Led by Gen. John Stark(the fellow who said "live free or die") of New Hampshire and Seth Warner of the Republic of Vermont the British and their Hessian mercenaries were soundly defeated and the supplies they were after denied them, which eventually led to Burgoyne's defeat. Over 700 British prisoners were taken. Ironically the battle took place in New York.
