I was enjoying a Bolivar robusto the other night and jamming to my new mp3 player (Samsung, it's great, but they rip you off on the software pricing). I had loaded up some of my favorites (Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Kid Rock, etc.). Some was better than others, but one song I listened to three times. I realized that it was arguably the best rock song I have ever heard. It has lyrics that go deeper than just words, rock riffs so you can enjoy the music, and a message that we can relate to.

DRUM ROLL!!!

It was....

Pink Floyd's "Learning To Fly"

What is your vote?

Too many to pick just one. It all depends on how I feel at any given moment. If you put a gun to my head and forced me I could make you a list of e few.

In no particular order:

Bohemian Rhapsody, Queen
Thick as a Brick, Jethro Tull
Running with the Devil, Van Halen
Piano Man, Billy Joel
The whole Yellow Brick Road album, Elton John

The list goes on...

I love Joel and John too!

some of my favorites rock songs...

Allentown-Billy Joel

Candle in the wind - Elton john

Nowhere Man -Beatles

Big Shot - B. Joel

I knew there was something besides cigars that drew me here. :D

Floyd
Elton
Beatles
Doobie Brothers

Any of the above depending on my mood, but mostly Floyd. Can you tell there is a old hippie in my background :0

Oh one other for you really old timers Little Feet, Feets don't fail me now.

Man, that is funny. Wascal, are you same guy who has a conceal & carry license? Isn't it odd how things tend to mesh together the older we get. We love doped out music like Pink Floyd, but we are serious enough to draw down on a criminal. :D

Music in itself isn't really doped out...that is usually the state of the listener. You sure that was a Boli Robusto you were smoking? :p

...but we are serious enough to draw down on a criminal.

So how many criminals have you stoners drawn down on?

:D

Hmmmm, tough tough call:

Metallica- Wherever I May Roam
Metallica- Fuel
RATM- Wake Up
Steve Miller Band- Magic Carpet Ride
Brian Stetzer Orch- Hot Rod Girl
John Lennon- Cold Turkey
Jimmy Hendrix- Hey Joe
G&R- Welcome to the Jungle

Beastie boys- We gotta Fight

James Brown- Pappa's Got a Brand New Bag

Those seem to be in heavy rotation on the Ipod.

I could go on, but I figure thats enough to start off.

Good thread so far!

Hey Jude - Beatles
Kashmir - Zepplin
Smells Like Teen Spirit - Nirvana (but Tori's cover is good too)
Reelin' In the Years - Steely Dan

Jimmy Hendrix- Hey Joe
Almost anything by Jimi will do but I like these
Red House - Jimi Hendrix (the Buddy Guy cover kicks much ass)
All Along the Watchtower - Jimi (not Dylan or DMB)
Best Jimi cover goes to:
Manic Depression - Jeff Beck and Seal
Runner up:
Little Wing - Monte Montgomery
Sabbath - Sweet Leaf
Sabbath - Snowblind
I see where your head was in high school.
Steve Miller Band- Magic Carpet Ride

Have to pick a Stones song...
Brown Sugar - Rolling Stones
If I could listen to only 1 rock band for the rest of my life, it would be Pink Floyd. And my favorite 5 Floyd songs in order are:

1. Wish you were here
2. Shine on you crazy diamond
3. Vera
4. Time
5. Mother

Other considerations go to:
Def Leopard
Ozzy
Jimi
Lenny Kravitz
Pear Jam
Santana
Rage Against the Machine
Phish
Beatles
The Kinks

Emo

Currerntly smoking a Monte, having a glass of Shiraz, and listening to "Have a cigar"

I am jealous of Emo's free time. I would be listening to that if I wasn't in an office! :D and I would be having a cigar! :D

Since there are 2 classes in the same room, were are in class for 6 hours straight. I have had a lot of free time the past few weeks. But when I go back home, I report to my ship. So I am enjoying my free time now, cause I wont have any when I get back.
MMMM...this Monte hit the spot...gotta find somthin else to smoke now...Maybe somethin I never had before...

TGIF! Great thread. Thank goodness for gone wine, good gars, and good music. Wish I was at home so I could add a great lady, but hey, a little Floyd is hitting the spot.

Emo

Smoking a Choix Supreme, drinking a glass of Shiraz, listening to "Wish you were here".

You old stoner you! LMAO

Hey, get ready to do some port sampling next week!! I'll be bringing a few bottles with me! :D

That stuff in the glass below is out of this world, Romariz Reserva Latina. It's almost amber in color and is very different from most that I've tried. It went so well with that Monte, I had to take a photo to remember them! LOL :sign:

James Gang - Walk Away
Cream - White Room
Little Feat - Fat Man in the Bathtub

NA :D

Damn, seeing all these tunes made me break out the radio here at work!

Brings back some memories! Good times!! :D
