Big thanks to gramps!!

For getting us in at the General Cigar gathering last night at Morton's steakhouse downtown Chicago.


I Had the pleasure of meeting John (director of marketing services for General cigar) What a great guy. Very laid back and very easy to talk to about cigars.

Met alot of new BOTL's..can you beleive most of these guys had never visited a cigar board.

We started out with appetizers and drinks..and than moved on to the fun part, cigars. So many good tasting cigars I sampled last night. I met about 15 new people, and introduced a cple new ppl to this board. Hopefully some of them sign up and become permanent members here.

What is it about cigar smokers?

What bond do we all share..
Everyone in that room felt at ease..almost as if we all knew each other already...everyone seemed to be getting along..ppl were telling stories about their cigar experiences..chatting about their daily lives.etc etc.
And once the event ended, many of us moved to the bar area where we continued the nights festivities of smoking cigars and great conversation.

I am glad that I came across such a great community with a bunch of great and generous guys! :thumbs:

I was surprised to hear they were having trouble getting cigar smokers to come to the event. Seemed like a natural to me...

Momma and I went the night before, at a different location. Same story, though. Great food, great spirits, great conversation and great cigars!!!

Ditto the thanks to John. He invited me to one at Morton's here in St. Louis. Fairly small gathering of 13 unique individuals. He brought Partagas Spansih Rosados, LGC Series R, Punch, Macanudo and Cohiba. It was a couple of weeks ago and a very nice gathering.

That was an awesome time. Thanks for the heads up on the George. John is a great guy,can't wait for sunday to meet some of the guys that we meet last night.

And those shrimp cocktails were unbelievable. It was a great time.
