Big windstorm

I just got home from driving from La Canada. I was on the freeway, and had to get off the wind was so bad. Down trees and trash all over the place. My car got a nice beating. The sky was lighting up in blue because of transformer blowing out. Luckily we still have power on my street. Much of the city appears to be without power.

Quite a windstorm we're dealing with.

Winds like that are fairly common here in the Colorado foothills above Denver. We have a 6' fence around the garbage cans to keep them getting blown away.

We're experiencing high winds and fires.

The wind is not the big problem. The fact that we rarely ever get high winds, or at least haven't had any Santa Ana's for quite sometime, means there is a lot of crap and debris in trees. So there are a lot of fallen branches everywhere.
