Has anyone had a Black Patch cigar? I smoked the "reserve" Caldwell. Really enjoyed it. Was wondering if anyone else tried them?

Nah, I don't think so indyrob. I looked at the site and these Black Patch cigars do indeed look very interesting. Heck, Muniemakers which are Connecticut puros are often scoffed at BUT I think they're pretty darn good cigars. These Black Patch ones could surprise many of us. I'm not sure I'd like them but ya never know, I think they'd at least be worth giving them a shot though.

Well in that case, let me help you out by fixing the link :p

Link to Black Patch Cigars

Thanks indy Rob, I really screwed that one up. :0 I had copied and pasted a link (the gogoguava Esplendido fiasco) in another thread and I didn't "cut" properly when I tried to post the link to Black Patch cigars and the old information was still stored on my notepad. Looks like I need a class in Windows 101.

Nah, it doesn't look like these are puros. I'd infer from the web descriptions, that these are KY broadleaf wrappers over Dominican filler and binder. They're either small run, local stuff, or they could sure use some marketing budget.

I grabbed one at my local smoke shop. It was recommended by the owner and so far he hasn't failed me. Nice to have somebody to help being a new smoker and such. One of the reasons I joined here is so I could pick your guys' brains.

Interesting to see interest in the Black Patch cigars up in New York. They are "solid cigars" no frills. I know. eric.

No one said they looked like "puros," where are you getting that from? ???

Looks like Bruce was talking about your "Muniemakers which are Connecticut puros" comment Bill.

I like to try both.

I have 1- Reserve Caldwell and 1- Select Toro. I'll be glad to send one to each of the first 2 pm's. Then maybe a review?

you still holding on to those sticks? I just emailed the company for a sampler, we will see what happens, and of course I will share the wealth if anythings comes of it.

Just got a box (thats 25 cigars) from Black Patch. I am going to keep a 5'er and will send a 5'er out to the first 3 that pm and show interest. I also got this email from the company.

Here are some pictures of this years crop that I took this Monday. My new KENBANO seed is flourishing after 3 years of cultivating this booger. Its cuban seed raised in Kentucky and I have trademarked it Kenbano. In a couple of years hopefully this will be a new "genre" of tobacco wrapper designation, ie. Cameroon, corojo, conn. broadleaf, conn shade, criojollo, Sumatra, Indonesian, and KENBANO wrapper. I also raise another seed which is proprietary that I call LC-1959 which is a solid dependable broadleaf that is currently used in our cigars since (production wise) 2005 to present. This is the tobacco that is blended with DR that you and your crew will be "herfing". Good luck and take care. Eric

I will post the pic as soon as the internet will let me open my photobucket.
