Blackberry tech question

I'm trying to solve a problem here at work with our Blackberry 8330 (Curve) phones and our surveying data collectors running Windows Mobile 5.0. I need some way to be able to transfer files of all types between the two devices via Bluetooth. I've successfully paired the two devices and transferred a .JPG from the phone to the data collector using Bluetooth, but I can't transfer any files from the data collector to the phone.

The program I've been using on the data collector is File Transfer, configured to use Bluetooth by default. I've already set the options on the phone to automatically trust the Windows Mobile device, and to disable encryption. I attempt to send my selected file from the WM device, the screen says "Searching for receiver". On the Blackberry I have tried both going into the "Media" program send selecting "Receive via Bluetooth" and leaving the phone alone to see if it will detect it on its own.

The LED blinks blue on the phone, indicating it's paired and communicating with the WM device. I'm at a loss for what else I can try. Any ideas??

If you have no successful response here, you might wanna ask this question on Crackberry or Howard Forums.

I agree...try Crackberry.com

You really think a bunch of us beer gut, cigar chomping guys are techies too?

Figured it was worth a try... I'm already registered here, the people are nice, and there have been a few tech questions thrown around before. :)

It's always worth a try...there are a few smart ones here. Good luck with your search.

Don't get too discouraged about asking tech questions around here.

I'm a pretty hardcore techie, but honestly, blackberry's are a royal PITA. Half the stuff is locked down and everything else is typically riddled with bugs. After owning two blackberry phones, I eventually got fed up with the hoops I had to jump through just to use the things for anything other than email and voice. I know a lot of people love them, but RIM's decision to lock down the phone the way they have and the poor tool support just gets in the way most of the time. I think a lot of techie types share a similar opinion. At this point, all of my friends and coworkers in the tech field have switched to the iPhone, android, or the new palm by now. (sorry blackberry fans, I know a lot of you guys love them)

However, ask a question about an android phone, Linux, networking, programming or arcade cabinets and I can probably help. :-)
